Khaberni - The voting process began this morning, Friday, for electing the head and council of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate in Amman, as part of the work of the general assembly meeting of the syndicate attended by the head of Jordanian artists, director Mohammad Yousef Al-Abbadi and council members, after the legal quorum was completed.
In accordance with the provisions of Article (17/A) of the Artists Syndicate Law No. (9) of 1997, the council of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate decided to accept the nominations of the following artists for the 14th electoral term for the years 2026–2028 for the position of head, which are the artist Hani Yousef Mahmoud Al-Jerah and the artist Mohammad “Saif” Sultan Ali Al-Dmour.
Nominations for 27 candidates for council membership were also accepted across five professions, which are: the profession of acting, the profession of directing, the profession of playing and singing, the profession of music composition and authorship, and the profession of technical arts and crafts for dramatic arts.
The head of Jordanian artists, director Mohammad Yousef Al-Abbadi, along with the secretary of the syndicate, Zaid Al-Qudah, and the treasurer, Dhargham Bishnaq, in the presence of several artists in the council and the general assembly, signed the final record related to settling the subscriptions and obligations of funds for the male and female artists in the general assembly, numbering (393) active members, in preparation for today’s Friday ordinary meeting of the general assembly, noting that the legal quorum for the annual meeting that day is (197) members.
It is noteworthy that the syndicate council held a meeting last Tuesday attended by all council members, except for director Hammad Al-Zu’bi who was excused. In accordance with Article (17/A) of the Artists Syndicate Law No. (9) for the year 1997, the council decided to accept the nomination of the following colleagues for the 14th electoral term for the years 2026–2028, they are:
