Minister of Agriculture Meets Syrian Delegation to Discuss Facilitation of Sheep Export

Khaberni -Today at the ministry building, Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, Engineer Khaled Huneifat met an official delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform of the Syrian Arab Republic, which included the Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, and the representative of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) in Syria, Dr. Ayham Abdel Qader, and the Director of Animal Health, Dr. Abdel Hayy Yousef, along with the representative of the World Organisation for Animal Health in the Middle East, Dr. Ahmad Almajali.
During the meeting, a number of joint issues were discussed, primarily the challenges facing the Syrian side in the livestock sector, 
The importance of enhancing the reporting system and epidemiological control in Syria was also addressed, in accordance with the international standards adopted by the World Organisation for Animal Health, to ensure the sustainability of animal trade and facilitate the technical and health procedures related to veterinary quarantine and export.
For his part, Minister Huneifat affirmed Jordan's commitment to its fraternal and regional role in supporting sister nations, especially in the fields of agriculture and animal health, emphasizing the importance of technical and institutional cooperation to ensure the safety of animal exports and achieve a balance between market requirements and the biosecurity of the region.
Huneifat noted that the ministry will thoughtfully consider the Syrian side's requests, within the legal and technical frameworks in effect, to facilitate the flow of agricultural goods and achieve mutual interests.
This meeting comes in the context of enhancing regional coordination between Jordan and Syria and related international organizations, contributing to the development of the agricultural sector and facilitating agricultural and livestock trade exchange according to the highest standards of quality and safety.
