Khaberni -The Spanish newspaper AS reported that Real Madrid is preparing to dispose of one of its top stars during the current summer transfer period.
The newspaper clarified that "Los Blancos" are seriously considering getting rid of David Alaba this summer, to free up a spot in the team's lineup and reduce salaries before making any new deals.
It indicated that the Austrian player receives an annual salary of 12.5 million euros, making him one of the highest-paid players at Real Madrid.
It added: "Alaba had suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament during a match against Villarreal in December 2023, and subsequently underwent surgery".
It continued: "Despite his temporary return to the field at the beginning of 2025, his recurring injuries kept him from participating, as he only played 14 matches throughout the last season".
It completed: "Alaba's ranking among Real Madrid's defenders has declined, placing him after Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, Dean Huysen, and Raul Asensio".
Real Madrid has so far dealt with 4 players, namely Dean Huysen, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alvaro Carreras, and Franco Mastantonio.
