Emma Watson Banned From Driving for 6 Months

Khaberni -The High Wycombe Magistrate's Court today, Wednesday, imposed a 6-month driving ban on British actress Emma Watson, who is 35 years old, in addition to a fine.

The verdict was issued after she was caught speeding while driving within Oxford area in the United Kingdom, while British actress Zoe Wanamaker, a participant in the "Harry Potter" film, faced a similar penalty in a separate court session.

The British news agency reported that Emma Watson, who is continuing her studies at Oxford University, was spotted driving her car at a speed of 61 kilometers per hour, in an area where the maximum speed limit is set at 48 kilometers per hour, on the evening of July 31, 2024.

Consequently, the court decided to impose a financial penalty of 1044 pounds sterling (equivalent to 1399 US dollars), along with a deprivation of driving for a full half year.

In a separate case handled by the same court, Zoe Wanamaker, who is 76 years old and participated in the 2001 version of the "Harry Potter" movie series, was convicted after being caught exceeding the legal speed limit on an incident that occurred on August 7, 2024.

Case data showed that Wanamaker was driving her vehicle at a speed of 74 kilometers per hour, in an area where the maximum speed limit was 64 kilometers per hour.

The court issued a similar penalty to that imposed on Emma Watson, fining Wanamaker 1044 pounds sterling, with an official decree banning her from driving for 6 months as well.

The two cases were considered in the same court during the same day, which drew attention to two stars of the "Harry Potter" series standing before the British judiciary in traffic-related cases.
