Khaberni -The World Food Programme states that funding shortages continue to pose a major challenge for the program, limiting its ability to provide the usual value of transfers to refugees in Jordan.

The program added in a report reviewed by "Al-Mamlaka", that current resources are sufficient to continue providing monthly cash assistance to refugees in camps and communities until September 2025, but there is an urgent need for immediate support to avoid a disruption in assistance.

The program explained that its operations in Jordan face a financial shortfall estimated at nearly 24 million dollars to cover needs until the end of 2025.

The report pointed out that the World Food Programme provided monthly food aid to 275,400 refugees in camps and "local communities" at reduced levels in June.

The World Food Programme has issued an urgent appeal calling on the international community to mobilize immediate funding before resources are exhausted, to ensure the continuity of life-saving assistance and support the stability of the region under the challenging conditions, emphasizing that any delay in financing will have serious humanitarian consequences on the most vulnerable groups.

The report discussed that the national school feeding program in Jordan faces a funding crisis, noting that it is one of the most important educational and health initiatives in Jordan.

The report mentioned that the provision of healthy meals was suspended for 12 nutrition days since May 11, 2025, stressing that there is a dire need for 3.6 million dollars to resume the program during the upcoming school term.

In May of last year, the World Food Programme indicated that it “will have to” suspend the school feeding program that benefits thousands of students in Jordan due to a lack of funding.
