Khaberni -The Spanish newspaper Sport reported that FC Barcelona is on its way to securing a new sponsorship deal that will boost its treasury in the coming period.
The newspaper explained that the Catalan club's management is close to signing a sponsorship agreement worth 40 million euros with the Democratic Republic of Congo, which involves placing the country's name and logo on the back of the Catalan team's jersey.
It noted that Barcelona is nearing a sponsorship agreement with the Democratic Republic of Congo for a period of four years, with a total value of 40 million euros, i.e., 10 million euros each season.
It added: "The Minister of Sports and Entertainment in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been negotiating for weeks with Barcelona officials, to place the country's slogan 'RDC, cœur de l’Afrique' (Democratic Republic of the Congo, heart of Africa) on the back of the first team’s training gear at Barça."
It pointed out that AS Monaco had announced on June 24th last year, signing a partnership agreement with the Democratic Republic of the Congo extending until 2028, committing to executing training programs in the African country to develop local football.
