Following is the text of the statement:
Al-Hussein Sports Club expresses its strong rejection and condemnation of what transpired in its team's match against Al-Wehdat team at the Qweismeh stadium, specifically regarding the goal scored by our player Mohammed Abu Ghosh.
Following the goal, there was deliberate tampering with the netting, in an attempt to make it appear torn, which led the match referee to cancel the goal on the grounds that the ball entered from outside the net. However, television replays clearly and undeniably showed that the ball entered the goal correctly and legally before this tampering occurred.
Additionally, the match witnessed excessive, deliberate, and overt roughness by Al-Wehdat players towards our team players, in front of the referee and assistant crew, leading to injuries to several of our players, caused by the same player on multiple occasions, one of which was a severe injury that required immediate medical intervention.
What happened is outright unacceptable behavior and cannot be considered a minor or incidental matter; it represents intolerable conduct that directly insults the integrity of the competition and damages the reputation of our league, which we all strive to maintain the integrity and stature of.
Therefore, Al-Hussein Sports Club:
1. Demands an urgent and transparent investigation into this incident, accountability for anyone proven involved, and the imposition of the severest penalties against them.
2. Announces that it will submit an official request to the football federation, demanding that the refereeing for all remaining Al-Hussein team matches in the tournament after the international break be done by external referees, to preserve the integrity of the competition and protect the reputation of Jordanian football.
Al-Hussein Sports Club reaffirms that it will not accept any infringement of its rights under any circumstances and will take all necessary official actions to ensure justice is served, preserving the integrity of the competition and protecting the rights of the club and its fans.
