Discovery of a Syrian journalists body after his mysterious disappearance

Khaberni -More than two weeks after his disappearance, the body of Syrian journalist Mohammed Kheit was found in a desolate area of Jeroud, in the Damascus countryside, according to Syrian television.

According to Syrian media, Kheit's disappearance on May 8 caused concern and mobilization in Syrian media circles, with a complete absence of any comment or clarification from the Ministry of Interior or Damascus police.

Concern for journalists
At the time, the Ministry issued a statement expressing its deep concern about this painful incident, emphasizing that "the safety of journalists and their protection across the Syrian Republic is a top priority in its media policy, and that no effort will be spared in following up on this case until the truth is revealed, and ensuring the safe return of our colleague Mohammed Kheit to his family and peers."

It was confirmed that the 36-year-old journalist was likely lost in Damascus or its vicinity, and several campaigning appeals were launched demanding disclosure of Kheit's fate, involving his friends, colleagues, and family members. One of them wrote: "My brother, friend, and brother-in-law, the kind journalist Mohammed Kheit has been missing for days, we know nothing about him."
