Khabarni - The well-known Saudi preacher, Dr. Saad bin Abdullah Al-Buraik, passed away today after a rich academic and preaching career spanning decades of service to religion and society. Funeral prayers are scheduled for him tomorrow, Monday, after the noon prayer at Al-Rajhi Mosque in Riyadh, and his body will be buried in Al-Naseem Cemetery.

Sheikh Al-Buraik was considered one of the most prominent preachers in Saudi Arabia. He served on several Sharia, research, and educational committees, and served as imam and preacher at the Prince Khalid bin Saud Mosque (may God have mercy on him) in the Dhahrat Al-Badi'ah neighborhood for more than 25 years.

The deceased earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Sharia, Department of Economics, at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in 1403 AH (1973). He was then appointed as a teaching assistant in the same department, before continuing his studies at the Higher Institute of the Judiciary, where he earned a master's degree in comparative jurisprudence with a thesis on "Commercial Insurance in Islam." He then earned a doctorate with first-class honors with a thesis titled "The Jurisprudential Choices of Imam Al-Khattabi (may God have mercy on him)."

May God have mercy on Sheikh Saad Al-Buraik, and grant him a place in His spacious gardens, and inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
