Khaberni - The Iranian Judiciary announced the issuance of indictment lists against 159 American and Israeli political and military officials related to the assassination file of the former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, and the case has been referred to court.
The spokesperson for the judiciary, Ali Kazemi, said that the indictment lists include 92 American officials and 67 Israelis. He did not disclose their names or the charges assigned to each, nor did he specify the competent court that will hear the case or the date the trial sessions will begin.
Kazemi added that the judiciary has issued in the cases related to the assassination of 19 Iranian leaders, indictment lists against 97 officials, including 74 Americans and 23 Israelis. It was not clear from the published statements whether these names were part of the list of 159 officials or represent an additional list.
The spokesperson mentioned that about 400 legal cases related to war and assassinations have been formed, including one lawsuit that involves more than 350,000 plaintiffs, seeking legal and moral sanctions and compensations. Kazemi clarified that the date for considering one of the compensation cases will be determined soon.
The issuance of the indictment lists represents an internal judicial procedure that may pave the way for trials before Iranian courts, but it does not automatically lead to the prosecution of the accused or the execution of sentences against them outside Iran. This requires cooperation from the countries where they are located or the use of international legal channels, and the Iranian judiciary has not yet announced any steps of this nature.
No official response has been issued by Washington or Tel Aviv to the Iranian actions up to the time of preparing this news.
