WhatsApp Tests New Message Bubbles on iPhone

Khaberni - WhatsApp is preparing to get a new visual update on iPhone devices that changes the shape of the message bubbles within the conversations.

The step aims to make the chat experience more modern and harmonious with the iOS system design. The company is currently testing the new design before rolling it out to all users.

A smoother design
WhatsApp has started testing a new look for message bubbles in its iOS app, where the bubbles now feature rounder corners and a smoother shape compared to the current design.

The update gives conversations a look closer to Apple's iMessage app, with improvements aimed at making messages appear more in sync with the iPhone interface.

The update does not focus on adding new functionalities, but comes as part of a series of modifications WhatsApp is making to the interface to update the user experience and give the app a more modern look.

Improved display of images
In addition to changing the shape of the bubbles, the new design includes adjustments to how files and shared images are displayed within chats.

According to reports, the media will appear cleaner, with the removal of some traditional borders surrounding them; making images and videos look as if they are a natural part of the conversation rather than separate elements.

This move comes after a series of changes that WhatsApp has introduced to its app on Apple devices, including adopting design elements inspired by Apple's new Liquid Glass language in modern Apple systems.

iOS experience update
Recently, WhatsApp has intensified its efforts to improve the app on Apple platforms, working on redesigning several parts of the interface, such as the navigation bar, some conversation elements, and option menus.

The company is testing additional features such as new kinetic effects when messages appear within conversations, making the messages appear more smoothly instead of popping up statically.

This feature is currently available to some users of the beta versions, with the ability to control its activation or deactivation from the settings.

Enhancing competition
Although changing the shape of message bubbles may seem simple, it reflects WhatsApp's strategy to maintain the app's appeal against competitors, especially with the continuous development of the iMessage app and other messaging apps that offer designs more integrated with operating systems.

WhatsApp strives to provide a unified experience across different devices, while maintaining the simplicity of use that has made the app one of the most widespread communication platforms around the world.

It should be noted that the new message bubbles are still being tested, and WhatsApp has not announced an official date for their launch to all iPhone users.

As is usually the case with experimental features, the design may be adjusted before the release of the final version, or it may be launched gradually to specific users first.
