Khaberni - Russian channel "Mash" reported that the Indonesian wine, which had caused the death of a Russian tourist earlier, also resulted in the deaths of at least two other Russians.
The first fatal poisoning case with this alcoholic beverage, sold in almost every grocery store in Bali, was recorded in 2008 when a Russian citizen from the city of Sobinka in Vladimirskaya province brought the wine home as a gift. After consuming it, her health deteriorated suddenly, she lost her vision, then fell into a coma which ended in her death.
By the end of last year, a Russian named Andrei was added to the list of victims; he was taken to the hospital after suspected poisoning by an unknown substance, before doctors later confirmed the cause was the Indonesian wine, and despite rescue attempts, he passed away.
A third case was recorded for a Russian woman named Anna, who consumed the alcoholic drink and then fell into a coma, dying after 22 days.
The channel also mentioned at least four other poisoning cases among Russians with this drink, but their lives were saved.
Despite these incidents, the drink is still available in stores in the southwest of the island, according to the report, while local residents and tourists continue to face risks associated with consuming it.
The report pointed to additional incidents, including a Russian tourist in Ubud who bought the drink from one of the stores to celebrate a romantic date, but later experienced a severe deterioration in his health after consuming a small amount of it. A Russian photographer also suffered severe health complications after drinking just one glass.
In another incident, a Russian tourist lost consciousness while driving a motorcycle after consuming the drink, resulting in severe injuries including lost teeth, a broken jaw, and partial facial paralysis.
