Syria makes a decision regarding a diplomat whom Cairo objected to his appointment as ambassador

Khaberni - The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a series of administrative and diplomatic appointments within its structure, which included positions in the Arab Affairs Administration.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, released a new list of appointments including department directors and advisors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, among them Mohammad Taha Al-Ahmad, who was appointed as an advisor for Arab Affairs, amid previous reports of Egyptian reservations about his nomination as Syrian ambassador in Cairo.

Well-informed Syrian sources told "Al Watan" that Damascus and Cairo reached an understanding regarding the appointment of the new Syrian ambassador in Cairo, in a step considered a significant development in the course of normalizing bilateral relations between the two countries.

Egypt had previously expressed reservations about the Syrian candidate Mohammad Taha Al-Ahmad for the position of ambassador in Cairo, which led to the position remaining vacant for several months.

These developments come within the framework of ongoing diplomatic efforts to enhance Syrian-Egyptian relations, especially after the visit of the Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani to Cairo in May, which discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation.
