According to the Turkish site Onedio, some details attributed to the deceased artist's mother about the last hours of her life were reported, indicating that she celebrated her birthday with her daughter a few hours before her death, and then they returned home later in the evening.
According to Onedio, the narrative explained that the artist took her usual medications after returning home, then went to her room to sleep, before being found unresponsive the following morning.

In contrast, the late artist's lawyer, Oğur Gökçüyon, denied the accuracy of the reports regarding an official statement from Ece Ertem’s mother, affirming that she is still in shock and has not been interrogated yet.
