Khaberni - The Greater Amman Municipality announced the closure of the Sweileh tunnel to traffic coming from King Abdullah II Street towards the Safout area temporarily starting tonight, in cooperation with the Traffic Department, for the purpose of rehabilitating the lighting system inside the tunnel to improve traffic safety levels.
Engineer Shadi Al-Rawabdeh, Director of Traffic Operations at Amman Municipality, explained that the closure will begin daily, from twelve midnight until six in the morning, pointing out that these measures are part of the municipality's plans to enhance traffic safety and infrastructure.
Al-Rawabdeh clarified that the traffic detours will be via Queen Rania Street towards the Patrols signals, with the possibility of returning and turning according to the permitted pathways at the site, urging drivers to abide by the directions and warning signs.
He confirmed that the municipality's teams will be present in the field to regulate traffic and provide the necessary support, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of road users.
