The American President names Hormuz as Trump Strait

Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump reposted an image on the "Truth Social" platform naming the Strait of Hormuz as "Trump Strait", in a new escalatory step that coincided with his harsh-toned threats to Iran.

This post followed Trump's previous share on the platform, an artificial intelligence-generated image showing him holding a rifle with the phrase "No More Mr. Nice Guy", and he wrote "Iran can't get it together. They don't know how to sign a non-nuclear deal. They better get smart soon!".

These threats came after Trump cancelled the planned trip of American negotiators to Islamabad last week, asserting that Washington holds all the cards, and that Iran should come to them if they want to talk.

Tehran had proposed reopening the strait in exchange for lifting the American blockade on its ports and ending the war, with a postponement of discussing its nuclear file, which did not satisfy Trump, as the White House is expected to respond with a counteroffer.

This deadlock has led to an increase in oil prices, where West Texas Intermediate crude rose 2.82% to $102.75, and Brent crude by 3% to $114.62, at a time when the UAE announced its withdrawal from OPEC, further complicating the global supply scene.
