Khaberni - After President Donald Trump indicated that he would not accept the previous version, informed sources revealed that the mediators in Pakistan are expecting a revised proposal from Iran in the next few days to end the war, as reported by CNN, today, Tuesday.
The sources also added that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will return to Tehran today after a visit to Russia, and is expected to consult with the regime's leaders.
They went on to say that the negotiation process is slow due to the difficulty of communicating with Mojtaba Khamenei, whose whereabouts are kept in complete secrecy.
However, they emphasized that the process is still ongoing and changing, and much will depend on whether Iran will return with a more acceptable amended proposal to the United States.
The Iranian Proposal
Trump had expressed his dissatisfaction with the recent Iranian proposal to stop the war.
Informed officials have stated that it is unlikely that the US President will accept it to end the war that erupted on February 28. They also explained that lifting the US naval blockade on Iranian ports and reopening the Strait without resolving issues related to Iran's uranium enrichment or uranium stocks near military-grade levels could cost the United States a major bargaining chip in the negotiations, as conveyed by CNN earlier today.
It should be noted that the Iranian proposal proposed postponing discussions on the nuclear program until after the war ends and the maritime shipping disputes in the Strait of Hormuz are resolved. It is unlikely that this proposal will satisfy Washington, which has insisted and continues to insist on resolving the nuclear issues from the beginning.
Hopes of ending the war and reaching an agreement between the Iranian and American sides diminished after Trump last Saturday canceled a visit by his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Islamabad, which Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited twice consecutively in recent days, to convey his country's proposals for resolving the conflict.
Meanwhile, Pakistan continues its efforts to reach a consensus that satisfies both parties, amid rising fears of the war resuming.
