Khaberni - Israel continues to destroy Hezbollah tunnels in southern Lebanon, where civilians are paying a hefty price for a war they never chose.
On Tuesday, the Israeli military announced in southern Lebanon near the northern border of the country, they found an extensive network of tunnels used by Hezbollah's elite militants.
The military said in a statement that its forces found "two Hezbollah terrorist tunnels, built over about a decade," extending for two kilometers and connected to sites equipped with launch pads directed towards Israeli territory.
Meanwhile, the military spokesperson Avichay Adraee explained that the army destroyed two underground Hezbollah terrorist tunnels with a total length of about 2 km in the Qantara area of southern Lebanon using more than 450 tons of explosives.
Adraee indicated in a statement on the "X" platform, accompanied by video clips documenting the operation, that "more than 30 stay and preparation rooms and about 30 operational openings" were found inside the tunnels.
He explained that one of the tunnels was recently used by Hezbollah's Radwan Force terrorists to carry out terrorist operations against the State of Israel and its citizens, posing a direct threat to the citizens of the State of Israel and its military forces.
He noted that "in recent weeks, the 36th Division conducted a large-scale operation to uncover and destroy underground tunnels built by the Hezbollah terrorist group in the Qantara area of southern Lebanon with direct assistance and guidance from the Iranian terrorist regime."
According to the same statement, "the forces carried out an attack towards the Qantara area, and found two tunnels with a total length of about 2 kilometers, at a distance of about 10 kilometers from the border."
He said these tunnels "are part of an underground infrastructure network that was uncovered in Operation Northern Arrows and was destroyed in the regions of Raba al-Thalatheen and Meiss el Jabal."
Inside these tunnels, the forces found large quantities of weaponry, rooms for staying and readiness, water tanks, and various facilities for long-term stays.
He added that they were used by Hezbollah terrorist elements for staying purposes only, where about 10 bedrooms containing beds were found inside one of the tunnels.
Launch sites directed towards the interior of Israel were also discovered inside the tunnels.
According to Adraee, the "Hezbollah shelter cities" were built over about a decade, and at depths of tens of meters underground, funded by the Iranian regime.
