Controversy Nutritional Sedition Ignites a Dispute Between Tamer Hosny and a Famous Doctor

Khaberni - The Egyptian circles witnessed a sharp dispute between the artist Tamer Hosny and the famous doctor Khaled Montaser, against the backdrop of the controversy surrounding what is known as "nutritional sedition".

The controversy began when Tamer Hosny shared a post on his Facebook account, with a plea directed to the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, alongside a group of doctors and specialists like Magdi Yacoub and Hossam Mowafi, requesting simplified and reliable explanations about the fundamentals of healthy nutrition, and to benefit from their expertise.

Tamer emphasized the necessity of addressing the public in simple language clear of complexity, which helps to dispel the growing anxiety among citizens, especially with the spread of contradictory information on social media platforms.

Tamer's plea included detailed questions about the nature of daily food, starting from vegetables and leafy foods, to protein sources like eggs and poultry, focusing on how to distinguish between safe products, which may be "sprayed" or "injected".

He also touched on common issues such as the benefits and harms of drinking water and milk, and the use of medications, demanding the launch of visible awareness campaigns presented in Egyptian colloquial and based on precise scientific simplification.

Khaled Montaser criticizes Tamer Hosny
In contrast, Khaled Montaser criticized the nature of the questions posed by Tamer Hosni, deeming them lacking a scientific basis, and in his words, imbued with superstition and uncontrolled discourse.

Montaser confirmed that what is stirred up about the "nutritional sedition" is merely medical misinformation, urging not to follow unverified information.

Montaser added in his post that using big scientific names in the context of what he described as "basic" questions is an unsuccessful approach, emphasizing the importance of each party sticking to their area of expertise.

Montaser also directed a sharp criticism at artists who delve into scientific issues without sufficient knowledge, urging them to familiarize themselves with the principles of scientific thinking before addressing a broad audience that might be influenced by such opinions.
