Khaberni - The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip warned on Tuesday of the risk of the only operational oxygen generation station in the provinces of Gaza and the North stopping, which is considered the primary source for supplying patients, especially those with chronic diseases, in addition to supplying medical institutions with medical oxygen.
The ministry explained that the station suffers from frequent breakdowns due to high pressure and long operating hours, in the absence of adequate alternatives, threatening the discontinuation of medical oxygen supplies and exposing patients' lives to severe risks.
The ministry added that the continuation of this situation portends an imminent humanitarian disaster, amid increasing needs for oxygen in hospitals and health centers.
The Ministry of Health has called on all relevant parties and international institutions to intervene urgently to introduce new oxygen generation stations and ensure the sustainability of supplying health facilities with medical oxygen, thereby protecting the lives of patients and continuing to provide health services.
