We fight drugs with blood and burn beads with a fatwa
الكاتب: عماد داود

In this country, there are men with real military ranks who stand at dawn on borders that never sleep.

Men who know the shape of the drone before it appears, and who know the smell of Captagon before it arrives, and they know that a mistake there is not written in a report, but buried at a funeral!

The Jordanian Armed Forces — The Arab Army and the Border Guard Forces — do not issue victory statements whenever they shoot down a drug-laden plane, because they know that the blood buried in the sand doesn't need a destruction committee or a fatwa.

They just shoot it down.

And the Anti-Narcotics Department doesn't explain much when they raid a den of poison traders.

Some men return.

And some return as names.

This is a real war.

A war with blood!

And on the other side of the state, there is another war.

A war with an official stamp.

Acts of sorcery were caught.

And were legally detained.

A specialized committee was formed for their destruction.

And the opinion of the General Fatwa Department was sought.

Then the blue bead was destroyed!

And the nation — after this historic victory — returned to its strategic equilibrium!

A country where martyrs fall in the fight against drugs, where drones are shot down at borders, and millions of poisonous pills are caught, truly needed an entity dedicated to the deeper battle:

Chasing the blue bead hidden among children's pajamas and a small teddy bear!

Here only I understand Don Quixote.

That old Spanish knight who went out to fight windmills because he thought they were giants.

He was more innocent than he should have been.

As for us, we have surpassed him civilizationally.

We do not mistake the identity of the enemy.

We know well the difference between the mill and the giant.

And we choose the mill!

Not because we do not see the giant, but because the mill does not shoot.

It does not need a raid. It does not drop a martyr. And it does not respond to the official statement!

The blue bead is an ideal enemy.

Small. Polite. Stable.

It can be photographed before destruction.

It can end inside a short news and a clean picture and a completed report.

Captagon, on the other hand, is a poorly raised enemy.

It crosses the borders with drones. Comes with smart balloons. Self-finances. Buys weak souls.

And it needs men with real military ranks, not just good journalistic crafting.

Therefore, from institutional wisdom, it is better to choose our opponents wisely.

The blue bead respects public order more than many humans!

It does not flee. Does not appeal the decision. Does not hire a lawyer. And does not return on the next balloon.

I imagine the customs officers' meeting.

A scene befitting the state archive.

A general sits with the dignity of his rank. A brigadier opens the file. A colonel reviews the seizures. And a major awaits the order.

And on the table...

The opponent.

The blue bead.

It looks at them with all the insolence of ancient magic.

The general clears his throat: The situation is serious.

The brigadier nods: It’s clear, sir.

The colonel firmly says: The opinion of the General Fatwa Department must be sought.

It is sought.

The fatwa arrives: Yes, this is a blue bead. Yes, there is suspicion. Yes, destroy it!

Everyone breathes a sigh of relief.

The law has triumphed!

Moments before destruction,

The blue bead looked from the warehouse window to the sky.

It saw a smart balloon quietly heading towards the border.

And said quietly:

"Lucky. You are lucky."

And here I propose — with all due respect to real military ranks — a simple administrative development that aligns with the nature of the new battle.

The ranks remain as they are, but with the due honorific extension they deserve for the phase.

Customs General: the master of the high crossings.

Brigadier: The elder of the customs way.

Colonel: The keeper of screening secrets.

Major: The captain of paths of envy.

Captain: The detective of spiritually suspicious parcels.

Lieutenant: A novice in applied bead sciences.
