Khaberni - The preparations for Colombian star Shakira's concert in Rio de Janeiro witnessed a painful incident, when a team member lost his life while setting up the stage, due to serious injuries resulting from a malfunction in the hydraulic lifting system used in construction.
According to an official statement from the organizers of the Todo Mundo no Rio event, the accident occurred on April 26th during the worker's participation in the stage setup operations.
The statement clarified that emergency teams intervened quickly and provided first aid on site, before transferring the injured person to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Rio de Janeiro Fire Department reported that the worker suffered severe crushing injuries to the lower part of his body due to a malfunction in the lifting equipment during the setup operation.
His colleagues managed to extract him from among the machinery before the arrival of the rescue teams, who handled the situation immediately, although attempts to save him were unsuccessful.
The organizers of the concert expressed their deep sorrow over the accident, affirming their support for the victim's family, providing the necessary support to the company responsible for the work team, and standing by all those affected by this incident.
The concert was scheduled to take place as part of a major event on Copacabana Beach, one of the most famous tourist sites in Brazil, which annually attracts huge numbers of fans. The event is classified among the most prominent open-air concerts hosting international stars, highlighting the importance of adhering to safety procedures during the preparation stages.
