Khaberni - The Syrian internal security forces, in cooperation with the general intelligence agency, managed to dismantle a terrorist cell within Homs governorate, and thwarted a sabotage plan intended for targeting security and stability in the region.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior stated in a Monday release that this quality operation was the fruit of precise intelligence efforts. The specialized units conducted a tight raid targeting the location where the cell members were fortified, resulting in the neutralization of two elements from the group, and full control over the site was established.
The ministry added, "During the operation, the security forces seized an arsenal of weapons, including rocket launchers with anti-tank missiles, sniper rifles, and machine guns, in addition to RPG launchers with charges, as well as quantities of ammunition, bombs, and other equipment prepared to cover criminal activities."
The ministry pointed out that this operation is a continuation of its efforts to strike at the dens of dormant cells and dry up the sources of terrorism, affirming its full readiness to confront any threats.
The Ministry of Interior announced on the 19th of this month that the leadership of the internal security in Quneitra governorate, in cooperation with the general intelligence agency, managed to thwart a sabotage plan targeting the destabilization of the area.
