Khaberni - Egyptian artist Sherine Abdel Wahab topped the social media trends with her new song "The Thorny Embrace," which she described as a "new birth" for her artistic journey.
Sherine released her song on Friday via the YouTube platform and social media pages, with lyrics and music by Aziz El Shafei, who in turn celebrated the song's widespread success on his Instagram account.
El Shafei said: "Number 1 in Egypt, and 8 worldwide, in just 21 hours, The Thorny Embrace, Sherine Abdel Wahab, trending in all Arab countries."
First Comment
In her first comment on her return to singing again, Sherine, in an interview with Amr Adeeb on his program "Al Hekaya" on Saturday, said that she went through a difficult phase where she felt like she was drowning before she began her journey of recovery and return to singing, continuing: "I was drowning and came back to life thanks to people's prayers."
Sherine confirmed that singing is an essential part of her life, revealing her rejection of the advice given to her about retiring, because she sees art as a passion and not just a job.
Promise
Sherine promised the audience a strong comeback, through releasing new songs regularly in the coming period, possibly every two weeks throughout the summer.
About re-entering the studio again, she mentioned that it was not easy, as she felt very tense at the beginning, her heartbeat increased, and her hands were cold, but she managed to record her first song after her return, "With Closed Eyes," to overcome her fear and anxiety.
She also revealed a new collaboration with the company "Sony," describing it as an important step that will result in many surprises, alongside her preparation for new musical projects, expressing her desire to perform a major concert in Egypt.
