Initiative Ask a Pharmacist 3 Continuing Excellence in Spreading Pharmaceutical Culture at Amman Arab University

Khaberni - The field training committee at the College of Pharmacy in Amman Arab University, in collaboration with the college students, organized an awareness initiative entitled "Ask the Pharmacist 3" under the supervision of Dr. Mai Al-Hawamdeh, head of the committee, and with the participation of committee members, a select group of students, and several faculty members. This initiative follows the success of the previous two, based on the College of Pharmacy's commitment to establishing a culture of proper pharmaceutical consultation within the university campus, and enhancing the pharmacist's educational role in the community.

 

And the initiative aimed to enhance the level of health and pharmaceutical awareness among the students of Amman Arab University and its employees, by providing direct pharmaceutical consultations and answering various inquiries related to the safe and effective use of medicines, focusing also on instilling concepts of treatment adherence, alerting to potential drug interactions and side effects, as well as clarifying the proper storage of medicines, and educating about dietary supplements and their effects, with an emphasis on the importance of consulting a pharmacist before using any medicinal product, the initiative had a tangible impact and received broad engagement, benefiting more than (120) university students and staff, with active participation from (20) pharmacy students who contributed to providing consultations and answering diverse pharmaceutical inquiries, reflecting the trust in the pharmacist's role as a reliable source of health information, and confirming the initiative's success in enhancing pharmaceutical culture and establishing concepts of rational and safe drug use.

 

This initiative is part of the vision of Amman Arab University and its College of Pharmacy aimed at empowering students to practice their professional role within an applied educational environment, contributing to honing their skills and enhancing their readiness for the job market, in addition, to developing effective communication skills, teamwork spirit, and professional responsibility among participating students, reaffirming that the pharmacist is a key partner in the health system, whose role extends beyond dispensing medication to health education.
