Starvation and Abuse Prisoners Club The number of Palestinian female prisoners in Israeli jails reached 90 prisoners

Khaberni - The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club revealed that the number of female prisoners in the occupation's prisons has increased this month to 90, who are subjected to starvation, torment, and strip searches.

The Prisoner’s Club clarified that "the majority of the female prisoners are held in Damon Prison (north), including two children, and a pregnant prisoner in her third month, and 25 administrative detainees (without charges) and three journalists, and two prisoners suffering from cancer and two prisoners detained since before the war."

On April 14, the Prisoner’s Club, the Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights, and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, in a joint statement, reported that there are more than 9,600 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, including 86 women and about 350 children, until the beginning of April.

On October 8, 2023, Israel, with American support, started the genocide war in Gaza Strip, which resulted in more than 72,000 martyrs and over 172,000 injured, most of them children and women.

In its new statement, the Prisoner’s Club said that "the female prisoners face harsh detention conditions including starvation, deprivation, medical neglect, and abuse, along with solitary confinement and assaults, including the policy of strip searches."

It noted that most arrests occur under the pretext of "incitement," and that the number of women's arrests since the beginning of the war has exceeded 700 (with subsequent releases), including the West Bank including Jerusalem, and inside the territories of 1948, "with no accurate statistics for Gaza arrests."

The Prisoner’s Club added that "this escalation comes during one of the bloodiest periods against Palestinian women, amidst continuing severe violations including physical and sexual assaults, and detaining women as hostages to pressure their families."

Since the start of the Gaza genocide war, Israel has escalated its assaults against Palestinian prisoners, leading to the martyrdom of dozens of them, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights reports.

In 1948, Israel was established on lands occupied by armed Zionist gangs that committed massacres and displaced at least 750,000 Palestinians, then later occupied the rest of the Palestinian territories, and refuses to withdraw and allow for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
