Khaberni - A video documenting the capture attempt of a runaway monkey from a private garden in the first area of Sadat City in Monufia Governorate has broadly spread on social media in Egypt.
An official from the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Monufia reported that the Civil Protection Forces of Monufia Security Directorate arrived to help capture the runaway monkey, which was high up in a tree in the first area of Sadat City. The monkey, named "Lulu", is one year old.
He explained that the committee formed from the Veterinary Medicine and Sadat City device succeeded in surrounding the monkey on one of the trees in the first area of Sadat City and they are currently working to capture it.
Sadat City witnessed, on Wednesday morning, the escape of a monkey from a private garden in the first area, which caused fear and panic among the citizens.
Dr. Hamed Barhouma, the Director of Veterinary Administration at Sadat Center, confirmed that a committee has been formed in coordination with the Sadat City apparatus to search for the monkey throughout the area to control it.
He mentioned that the news of the monkey escape was received from a private site via the social networking site "Facebook", and that the search for it is ongoing to ensure the safety of the citizens due to the state of panic that prevailed in the city.
