Syria and the UAE Discuss Cooperation Relations and Ways to Develop Them

Khaberni - Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shar'a met on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The meeting was attended by Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and a number of senior officials.

They reviewed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to develop them, as well as enhancing economic partnerships and supporting development efforts, which contribute to achieving shared interests and promoting stability and prosperity in the region.

The two sides also discussed the developments in the security situation and regional challenges, affirming the importance of coordinating efforts to preserve regional security.

Al-Shar’a affirmed the Syrian Arab Republic's solidarity with the UAE and the necessity of respecting state sovereignty and rejecting any practices that affect its security and stability, especially in light of recent Iranian attacks on countries in the region.

President Al-Shar'a arrived today in Abu Dhabi as part of his Gulf tour that started yesterday and also included the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar.
