Khaberni - Motorola officially unveiled its new phone, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro, belonging to the mid-range category, yet featuring strong specifications and an eye-catching design, with a competitive starting price of less than $400.
The phone was announced in India, and it is expected to reach other markets later. It offers a 6.8-inch high-resolution AMOLED display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and a brightness of up to 5200 nits, along with a curved design on the sides.
The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor, with memory options up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage capacity, and runs on Android 16, with promises of system updates for three years, according to a report published by "phonearena" and reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".
Regarding the cameras, the phone includes three 50-megapixel lenses, featuring a main camera with a "Sony" sensor, in addition to a wide lens, and a front camera of the same resolution, enhancing its photography capabilities.
The phone boasts a large 6500 mAh battery, with 90-watt fast charging support, which may give it a running time that could exceed two days, according to company estimates.
The device also enjoys advanced specifications that include water and dust resistance with IP68 and IP69 standards, Gorilla Glass protection, along with Dolby Atmos sound support, and modern connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
Despite these features, the phone lacks wireless charging support, in a move that is likely aimed at keeping its price competitive.
The phone's price in India starts at about 36,999 rupees (equivalent to about $395), while the higher version goes up to about $448, making it one of the most prominent phones in terms of value for price in its category.
While there is no confirmed release date globally, expectations suggest the possibility of launching a version targeted for the American market later, which might carry a different name, with specifications similar to this version, competing with devices like the Google Pixel 10a and Samsung Galaxy A57 5G.
