This expansion aims to enhance the responsible management of technical electronic and electrical equipment at the end of its lifecycle, embodying their shared commitment to sustainable network innovation.
Since its inception in 2024, this partnership has achieved tangible results, including recycling more than 130 metric tons of decommissioned equipment, effectively reducing the waste transferred to landfills and supporting the circular economy through globally certified recovery and recycling processes.
This program aligns with the ambitious vision of both companies in the fields of climate action and environmental sustainability. By elevating the management of network equipment life cycles, Ericsson and Umniah strive to enhance value recovery and reduce the environmental impact of network upgrades.
As Umniah accelerates its transformation under its new identity, Umniah, a Beyon company, sustainability remains a core pillar in its strategy for network development; responsible disposal and recycling of old infrastructure represent a pivotal step in building a high-performance network ready for future requirements.

Today, the company makes its expertise in this area available to customers in over 180 countries around the world, affirming its commitment to the sustainability of product life cycles.
Yousef Sater, Chief Technology Officer at Umniah, a Beyon company, stated: "Leadership in the network sector requires continuous evolution; as we work on enhancing the capacity, speed, and reliability of the best mobile network in Jordan, we pay equal attention to the mechanism for updating old infrastructure. In cooperation with Ericsson, we ensure that this upgrade achieves technical excellence and tangible environmental responsibility simultaneously, as performance efficiency and sustainability are not contradictory options, but are fundamental pillars in our design philosophy."
In his part, Kevin Murphy, President of Ericsson for North East Middle East, says: "The Ericsson Electronic Waste Management Program enhances the responsible handling of technical equipment at the end of its operational validity. Through our partnership with 'Umniah,' we embrace the principles of the circular economy through the stages of recovery, recycling, and safe final disposal, in line with Ericsson's ambitious strategy for climate action and environmental sustainability."
Through this partnership, Umniah and Ericsson seek to place the environment at the forefront of their business operations and raise awareness of the best practices for disposing of electronic waste and recycling, while continuing their cooperation in launching initiatives that enhance environmental sustainability and support climate action in the Kingdom.
