Khaberni - The management of the Royal Moroccan Army club sent an official letter to the Confederation of African Football in which it expressed its categorical rejection of the scheduled time for the first leg of the African Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
The match is expected to be held on May 15th at the "Lucas Moripe" Stadium in Pretoria, amid great anticipation from the fans. However, the Moroccan team quickly took action to avoid any surprises related to the match's start time.
The South African team is known for playing its matches in the noon heat, taking advantage of the high temperatures to exhaust its opponents. This tactic led the management of the Royal Moroccan Army club to object to this timing, considering it does not ensure equal opportunities and poses a significant physical strain on the players.
In its correspondence, the club proposed postponing the match time to six o'clock in the evening, considering it a more suitable time from both a technical and health standpoint, instead of the noon time which might serve the interests of the host team.
The management of the Royal Moroccan Army club is awaiting an official response from the CAF committees in the coming days to finalize the travel plans and preparations for this crucial continental duel.
The Moroccan team reached the final after an impressive journey, finishing the group stage in second place behind Egypt's Al Ahly, before surpassing Pyramids in the quarterfinals and eliminating Renaissance Berkane in the semifinals.
