Good news for Tom and Jerry fans

Khaberni  - Viva Kids has announced the release date for the new animated comedy movie "Tom and Jerry: The Forbidden Compass," produced by "Warner Bros." in theaters, as the latest long narrative work inspired by the famous series that brought together the most famous cat and mouse in the world of animation.

The film's events revolve around an unexpected confrontation between Tom and Jerry inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, where a fast chase between them triggers a "legendary compass" that opens a time portal transporting them to an ancient lost city. There, Jerry finds himself in a mysterious and dangerous world and is drawn into a gang led by a cunning character, while Tom is believed to carry a message of a divine nature.

As the events escalate, the traditional adversaries are forced to overcome their differences and work together for survival and return to their world.

According to the announcement, the film was first shown in Chinese cinemas in August 2025, and it will reach American cinemas on September 9, 2026, in a separate release not facing strong direct competition at the box office, despite coinciding with a number of prominent films.

The film is written and directed by Gang Chang, inspired by the famous "Hanna-Barbera" characters. It is co-produced by several names, including Qin Bovi, Rocking Fu, Jasmine Gao, Xiaojing Yang, and Huishia Chang. Blossom Entertainment in Beijing oversaw the development and sales of the project, while its running time is 94 minutes.

The film is expected to present a new vision that combines comedy and adventure within a modern visual framework for the globally beloved characters of Tom and Jerry.
