Khaberni - Mizan News Agency, the news platform of the judiciary in Iran, said that Tehran executed, on Tuesday, a man accused of being one of the leaders of a network associated with the Israeli intelligence service and setting fire to a mosque in the capital during January protests.
The agency mentioned that the man is named Amir Ali Mir Jafary, adding that he was convicted of carrying out a deliberate arson attack on a mosque in Tehran and leading anti-security activities.
Mizan added that the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence issued against him, and it was carried out early Tuesday morning.
Earlier this year, Iran witnessed nationwide anti-government protests, which were suppressed in the largest crackdown in Iran's history.
