Iranian Foreign Ministry Tehran has not yet made a final decision regarding talks with Washington in Pakistan

Khaberni - The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei, stated that Iran has not yet made a final decision regarding participation in talks with the United States in Pakistan.

The official Iranian Broadcasting and Television Corporation quoted Baqaei as saying, "A final decision has not yet been made regarding participation in the talks in Pakistan."

The diplomat attributed the reasons to "conflicting messages and behaviors, as well as unacceptable actions by the United States," saying, "Due to the contradictory behavior of the Americans, no final decision has been made."

He added, "Attacking Iranian ships is a blatant violation of international law, maritime piracy, and when negotiations are directed towards achieving results, Iran will decide whether or not to participate."

A representative of the Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in the Revolutionary Guards, Abdullah Haji Sadiqi, denied any current negotiations with Washington, asserting that "Tehran will negotiate when the enemy accepts its conditions."

He noted that "the Iranian people will support their leader when he decides to 'shift the battlefield from missiles to negotiations'."

Also, a member of the presiding board of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Ahmad Naderi, announced that his country would not hold the second round of negotiations with the concerned parties until the maritime blockade imposed on Iran is lifted.

The second round of negotiations, sponsored by Pakistani mediators, was scheduled, but Iran stipulated lifting the blockade as a precondition for resuming dialogue.

Amid uncertainty over holding a new round of talks, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, urged the United States and Iran on Tuesday to extend the ceasefire and give diplomacy and dialogue a chance.
