Starting Maintenance Work on 100 Street

Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing begins on Tuesday morning the maintenance works for the Amman Developmental Corridor, (100 Street), which includes various sites along the road that have been identified based on their urgent need for repair as they are the most damaged, and with a total quantity of asphalt mixtures reaching 200,000 square meters.

This work is part of a project that includes the maintenance of eleven vital roads in the Central Region at a total cost of 5.9 million dinars, funded by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. The Ministry has nearly completed the maintenance of the Muwaqqar and Azraq road stretch from Al-Faisal Signal up to King Abdullah Training City, to begin the new phase that targets enhancing the efficiency of the Amman Developmental Corridor and its rehabilitation in line with the heavy traffic loads and rapid urban growth.

The work plan for the eleven roads, spanning 300 days, includes scraping off the damaged layers and relaying them with asphalt mixtures, treating collapses and erosions, maintaining bridges and concrete culverts, in addition to enhancing traffic safety elements with paints, signs, and ground reflectors.

The Ministry of Public Works also mentioned that the project covers, in addition to Muwaqqar Road and Amman Developmental Corridor, the airport roads, Al-Salt ring road, Naour, Wadi Shaib, Amman Al-Salt, Madaba West, Malki, Salam, Dead Sea road, and Madaba Umm Al-Amad road.

The Ministry confirmed its commitment to ensuring the continuation of traffic flow on the road without full closure, through the adoption of partial detours and traffic shifting between lanes in coordination with the General Security Directorate, calling on drivers and road users to be cautious and abide by the guidance signs to ensure their safety and the safety of the field teams.
