Medical Miracle Man Brought Back to Life After His Body Freezes at 20 Degrees Celsius

Khaberni - In a rare medical incident akin to miracles, doctors in the Russian region of Yakutia, one of the coldest inhabited areas on Earth, successfully brought a man back to life after he was considered clinically dead due to exposure to harsh temperatures of about -20 degrees Celsius.

The details of the incident trace back to the city of Mirny, where the man was returning home after a night out before deciding to sit on a bench along the way to rest, but he fell asleep due to exhaustion and the severe cold. When passers-by later found him, he had no pulse or blood pressure, and his electrocardiogram showed a flat line, a clear indicator that his vital functions had ceased.

According to "Oddity Central," the man was urgently transported to the local hospital, where a medical team led by anesthesiology and resuscitation specialist Dmitry Busikov undertook the task of saving him in a race against time.

Instead of immediately resorting to resuscitation, the doctors employed a precise technique known as "gradual rewarming," which lasted for hours, aimed at protecting the delicate blood vessels from damage. Rapidly raising the body's temperature could lead to rupture of capillaries and potentially fatal complications such as heart attacks, kidney failure, or brain swelling.

Within about four hours, the team successfully raised the patient's body temperature from 24 to 34 degrees Celsius. At this stage, the doctors began intensive cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures. After 25 minutes of continued efforts, the first signs of life appeared with a faint pulse detected on the medical devices.

After 5 hours and 34 minutes from the start of the process, the man's vital signs stabilized. After being placed in a medical coma for one day, he regained full consciousness, with his brain and kidney functions preserved without notable damage.

Just 5 days later, following medical follow-up, he left the hospital, in an incident that highlights the human body's resilience and reflects at the same time the precision and advancement of resuscitation techniques under harsh conditions.
