Khaberni - Qena Province in southern Egypt witnessed a devastating incident that shook the village of "Al-Koum Al-Ahmar" in the Farshout district, where a 9-month-old infant fell victim to his parents' conflict with a fatal stab by his mother.
The woman delivered a fatal stab to the child in the head inside her family home, an incident that initial investigations revealed had complex psychological and social motives.
The security forces in Qena Security Directorate received notification of the child "Ryan H. A."'s death, prompting detectives to immediately move to the scene of the report, where the body was transported to the hospital morgue at the disposal of the public prosecution, which took over the investigation into the circumstances of the incident and ordered a detailed investigation.
According to security investigations, it was revealed that the infant’s mother had committed the crime using a knife, motivated by revenge against her husband due to ongoing family disputes, as the accused had left the marital home in Sohaj Governorate about 4 months ago, to stay at her father's home in Qena after repeated quarrels with her husband.
The official information clarified that the mother was in a very bad psychological state, as she had attempted to end her life by hanging before committing the crime, but her attempt failed. Afterwards, she proceeded to end the life of her infant child, as security forces and the public prosecution continue their investigations to take the necessary legal actions regarding the incident.
