Khaberni - The number of users of the "E-Fawateerkom" system has risen during the first quarter of 2026, reaching 5.17 million users, compared to 5.04 million in the fourth quarter of 2025, with a growth rate of 2.6%.
According to a report by the Jordanian Company for Payments and Clearing Systems (JoPACC), the total value of transactions decreased by 12%, amounting to 3.89 billion dinars in the first quarter of 2026, compared to 4.42 billion dinars in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The report also showed a slight increase in the number of transactions during the first quarter of this year, reaching 20.47 million transactions, compared to 20.24 million transactions, with an increase rate of 1.1%.
Government services accounted for the largest share of transaction value by biller type, with a value of 2.5 billion dinars, followed by wallet companies and payment service providers, then the water and electricity sector with a value of 249.3 million dinars, and financial services with a value of 187.2 million dinars.
The telecommunications sector led the number of transactions by biller type, with 6.31 million transactions, followed by the water and electricity sector with 5.68 million transactions, then government services with 4.59 million transactions.
Digital payments accounted for 85.4% of the total transaction value in the first quarter of 2026, with a value of 3.3 billion dinars, compared to 74.7% in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Conversely, the value of cash payments during the same period decreased to 568 million dinars, accounting for 14.6%, compared to 1.11 billion dinars in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Digital payments also accounted for 81.7% of the total number of transactions, with 16.7 million transactions, compared to 18.3% for cash payments.
