Khaberni - Dr. Anna Guskova, an internal diseases specialist, indicates that premature aging is related to lifestyle, and it may manifest in accelerated wear and tear of the body's organs compared to chronological age.
She says: "Premature aging is a condition where the biological age exceeds the chronological age. Some of the most important factors that accelerate this process are bad habits and an unbalanced lifestyle. For instance, smoking, alcohol consumption, weight gain, lack of physical activity, poor nutrition, chronic stress, and lack of sleep negatively affect health."
The doctor emphasizes the importance of prioritizing the correction of these factors if they are present. She recommends following a balanced diet, regularly engaging in physical activity, and getting 7-8 hours of sleep. Preventive measures, including vaccinations and stress reduction, also play a significant role. Quitting unhealthy habits is one of the primary factors in slowing the aging process.
According to her, adopting a comprehensive approach to lifestyle and regular health check-ups help in slowing down aging and improving quality of life over the long term.
