Khaberni - The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that its forces in the Arabian Sea intercepted the cargo ship "Tusca" flying the Iranian flag, while it was en route to "Bandar Abbas" port.
"CENTCOM" clarified in an official statement that it issued multiple warnings to the ship regarding its violation of the imposed naval blockade, but non-compliance led one of the American destroyers to fire shells that directly targeted the engine room, disabling the propulsion system and completely immobilizing the ship.

In this context, the New York Times, citing military officials and experts, reported that a U.S. Marine Corps inspection team conducted an inspection of a ship flying the Iranian flag, and that its entire cargo is now under American custody.
It noted that the ship "Tusca" had been part of several ships under the scrutiny and surveillance of U.S. intelligence in recent days, both within and outside the scope of the blockade imposed on Iranian ports and ships.
It added that U.S. officials will decide the fate of the ship after the inspection, while experts suggested the option of towing it to the Sultanate of Oman.
