Khaberni - Haaretz newspaper reported that a photo was taken of an Israeli soldier smashing a statue of Jesus Christ in Deir Saryan village in the Marjeyoun area of southern Lebanon.
Haaretz newspaper added that the Israeli army stated, "These actions do not align with the values of the Israeli army and the expected conduct of its soldiers," and that "the incident will undergo a thorough and in-depth investigation."
According to the newspaper, "Necessary actions will be taken if needed, based on the results of the investigation." In Lebanon, it was reported that another Christian site was destroyed in the village of Ain Ebel in the Nabatiyeh governorate in the south of the country.
