Manchester City took the lead first with a spectacular goal by Frenchman Rayan Cherki who dodged 3 Arsenal players before scoring the first goal in the 16th minute, and two minutes later, in the 18th minute, Arsenal equalized through Kai Havertz who took advantage of a mistake by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to score.
In the second half, Erling Haaland scored Manchester City's second goal in the 2-1 minute from a cross that he met superbly into the net.
With this result, Manchester City narrowed the gap to just 3 points, with Arsenal leading the standings with 70 points, while City holds the second position with 67 points and has a game in hand, where a victory would equal Arsenal's points tally.
