Khaberni - The Land Transport Regulatory Authority begins, on Sunday, operating a new transportation route linking the Al-Qasr Triangle – Al-Rabeh Triangle – Al-Lajoun Road – the capital Amman (South Complex), as part of the first phase of the regular transport project in Karak Governorate (inter-governorate regular transport).
The operation of this route comes with the decision and approval of the Prime Minister's office, by adding 9 medium buses to work within the project, according to a regular and fixed schedule; where trips depart every 45 minutes from Sunday to Thursday, and every hour on Fridays and Saturdays, ensuring a reliable and regular transport service for citizens.
In a step reflecting the Authority's commitment to enhancing partnership with the operational sector and improving public transportation services, a contract for operating this route was signed between the Land Transport Regulatory Authority and the operator, after completing all legal and technical procedures approved, ensuring a safe and regular transport service according to the highest standards of quality and control.
The addition of this route came in response to the increasing demand from the residents of Karak Governorate and public transport users, as there was a need to enhance connectivity in this vital direction. This also reflects the success of the regular transport project's experience in the governorate since its launch, which has seen increasing patronage by citizens, prompting the Authority to expand the scope of service by introducing this route.
According to the operational plan, the first trips depart from Al-Qasr Triangle at (5:00) AM towards Al-Rabeh Triangle, while the first trip from Al-Rabeh Triangle departs at (5:30) AM towards the capital Amman (South Complex). The first trip from the South Complex towards Karak Governorate starts at (5:45) AM. The service continues until (7:45) PM from Al-Qasr Triangle, and until (8:30) PM from the South Complex.
The Authority confirmed that the buses operating on this route are equipped with electronic payment systems and internal electronic monitoring systems, which contribute to enhancing the quality of service, raising safety levels, and ensuring adherence to trip schedules.
This route is a quality addition to the regular transport network in Karak Governorate, as it will raise the total number of project buses in its first stage to (40) buses, after completing the addition of new buses operating on this route, alongside the existing routes within the project, which are operated through Rubu' Shihaan Passenger Transport Company.
The established fare for this route is (2) dinars per passenger, while the operating support is estimated at about (140) thousand dinars annually, as part of the Authority's commitment to sustaining the service and achieving a balance between operational cost and the quality of service provided.
The Authority affirms its continued implementation of plans to expand and develop the regular transport system in various governorates of the kingdom, which contributes to improving the quality of service provided to citizens and enhancing reliance on public transport modes.
