Khaberni - The Land Transport Regulatory Authority begins on Sunday the operation of a new transport route connecting the Qasr Triangle – Rabba Triangle – Lajoun Road – the Capital Amman (South Complex), as part of the first phase of the regular transport project in Karak Governorate (inter-governorate regular transport).
The operation of this route has been decided and approved by the Prime Minister’s office, with the addition of 9 medium buses to work within the project, according to a regular and consistent schedule; where trips start every 45 minutes from Sunday to Thursday, and every hour on Fridays and Saturdays, ensuring a reliable and regular transport service for citizens.
In a step that reflects the commitment of the authority to enhance partnership with the operational sector and increase the efficiency of public transport services, an operating contract for this route has been signed between the Land Transport Regulatory Authority and the operator, after completing the legally and technically approved procedures, ensuring the provision of safe and regular transport service according to the highest standards of quality and monitoring.
The addition of this route was in response to the increasing demand from the residents of Karak Governorate and users of public transport, where the need for improved connectivity in this vital direction became apparent. This also reflects the success of the regular transport project in the governorate since its initiation, which has seen increased acceptance by citizens, prompting the authority to expand the scope of service through the creation of this route.
According to the operational plan, the first trip starts from the Qasr Triangle at (5:00) AM towards the Rabba Triangle, while the first trip from the Rabba Triangle starts at (5:30) AM towards the Capital Amman (South Complex). The first trips from the South Complex towards the Karak Governorate begin at (5:45) AM. The service continues until (7:45) PM from the Qasr Triangle, and until (8:30) PM from the South Complex.
The authority confirmed that the buses operating on this route are equipped with electronic payment systems and internal electronic monitoring systems, which contribute to enhancing the quality of service, raising safety levels, and ensuring adherence to the schedule.
This route is a qualitative addition to the regular transport network in Karak Governorate, raising the total number of buses in the project's first phase to (40) buses, after completing the addition of new buses operating on this route, along with existing routes within the project, operated by the Raboue Shihaan Passenger Transport Company.
The approved fare on this route is (2) dinars per passenger, while the annual operating support is estimated at about (140) thousand dinars, as part of the authority's commitment to sustaining the service and achieving a balance between operating costs and the quality of the provided service.
The authority confirms its continuation in implementing plans to expand and develop the regular transport system across various provinces of the kingdom, contributing to improving the level of service provided to citizens and enhancing reliance on public transport.
