China Offers Mediation in the Iranian Uranium Crisis

Khaberni - An informed diplomat stated that China is open to receiving about 440 kilograms of highly enriched uranium, which Trump insists is necessary to obtain from Iran, as part of an agreement to end the war.

It seems that Trump currently wants the United States to receive uranium buried under nuclear sites, severely damaged by American bombing in June, according to the Associated Press.

But China, Iran’s largest trading partner, indicates that it would be open to receiving the uranium, or reducing its enrichment to levels that allow its use in civilian applications only, should Washington and Tehran agree on this, according to the diplomat who requested anonymity.

In 2015, under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Iran shipped approximately 11,000 kilograms of low-enriched uranium to Russia, to meet a fundamental requirement for the implementation of the nuclear deal at that time.
