Israeli forces penetrating transfer equipment to Quneitra in southern Syria

Khaberni  - The official Syrian "Al-Ikhbariya" channel reported that the Israeli army introduced field equipment into Quneitra province in southwestern Syria, in a new violation despite statements by Syrian President Ahmad al-Shar' regarding Damascus's commitment to securing a security agreement with Tel Aviv to ensure regional stability.

"Al-Ikhbariya" reported that Israeli forces penetrating into Syrian territory brought a bulldozer and 3 trucks loaded with prefab rooms to the eastern Tel Ahmar area in southern Quneitra countryside.

This development -whose motives are not yet clear- comes the day after President al-Shar' confirmed -in an interview with Anadolu Agency- that Damascus is serious about reaching a security agreement with Israel that preserves regional stability. Al-Shar' said: "I do not think that negotiations with Israel have reached a deadlock, but they are proceeding with great difficulty due to Israel's insistence on being present on Syrian territory."

Al-Shar' also revealed that current negotiations between Syria and Israel focus on reaching a security agreement that ensures the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the occupied Golan to the 1974 lines.

In a discussion session at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey, the Syrian president emphasized the invalidity of any country recognizing Israel's right over the occupied Golan, affirming that it is an inherent right of the Syrian people.

Israeli violations in southern Syria have occurred almost daily in recent months, including raid and search campaigns of homes, setting up roadblocks, as well as the arrest of civilians including children and shepherds.
