Rising Temperatures and Unstable Weather with Rain Showers and Dust Warnings

Khaberni - Temperatures will rise slightly on Thursday, to record above the general averages for this time of the year by about 6-7 degrees Celsius; the weather will be unstable and warm in most areas, while relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Clouds will appear at different altitudes, and scattered rain showers are expected in various parts of the kingdom from time to time, which may be accompanied by thunder and hail, especially in the southern and eastern regions of the kingdom. Winds will be moderate to brisk from the southeast with strong gusts at times, especially in the eastern regions, stirring up dust in many areas, particularly in desert regions. Gradually, as the night progresses, the chances of rain will decrease.

The Meteorological Department warns in its report of the risk of reduced horizontal visibility due to dust in many areas, especially in desert regions, and of the danger of thunderstorms, and of the risk of slipping on roads that experience rainfall, advising respiratory patients to take necessary precautions.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in east Amman today range between 30 - 17 degrees Celsius, in west Amman 28 - 15, in the northern highlands 25 - 15, in the Sharah highlands 26 - 14, in the desert regions 32 - 16, in the plains areas 30 - 16, in the northern Jordan Valley 35 - 20, in the southern Jordan Valley 37- 24, at the Dead Sea 36- 23, and at the Gulf of Aqaba 37 - 23 degrees Celsius.

On Friday, a slight further increase in temperatures will occur; the weather will be warm in most areas and relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with continued unstable weather; clouds will appear at medium and high altitudes, and with the afternoon hours, cloud amounts will increase at different altitudes and rain showers will fall in scattered places in the kingdom accompanied occasionally by thunder and hail. In the evening and night hours, rainfall, especially in the eastern regions, can sometimes be heavy, leading to the formation of floods in valleys and low-lying areas. Winds will be southeast to southwest, moderate to brisk in speed with strong gusts at times, stirring up dust in many areas leading to reduced horizontal visibility and sometimes its absence, especially in desert regions and on desert roads.

On Saturday, the kingdom will be affected by a pleasantly cool air mass, causing a noticeable drop in temperatures; the weather will be pleasantly cool in most areas and relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with clouds appearing at different altitudes, and there is a possibility in the morning hours of light rain showers in limited southern and eastern areas. Winds will be westerly, moderate in speed and brisk at intervals.

On Sunday, a slight drop in temperatures will occur; the weather will be pleasantly cool and partly cloudy in most areas, and warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds will be northwest, moderate in speed and occasionally brisk.
