Khaberni - The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority announced on Tuesday that it is nearing completion on the development of all bachelor's degree plans in all scientific, humanities, health, and technical disciplines, in line with labor market requirements and updates in various sciences.
The authority mentioned that it has issued the "National Development Guide for Sharia Colleges Programs 2026", which aims to integrate digital skills and specialized English language skills into the curricula of Sharia colleges.
The council of the authority worked on forming a committee of academics from Sharia colleges from various Jordanian universities to review bachelor's programs in Sharia colleges and to recommend proposals aimed at developing study plans and enhancing the skills of faculty members and students therein.
After reviewing the committee's recommendations and considering the desired benefits from them, the council decided to adopt its recommendations, most importantly including digital skills related to the discipline in the study plans and enhancing the skills and competencies of students and faculty members by providing them with professional and specialized certifications in their fields.
Because of the importance of students of Sharia sciences learning another language in order to achieve the intended goal of studying this specialty, the amendments included integrating credit hours in English related to the discipline that enables the student to communicate with non-Arabic speakers and convey accurate information about our noble religion.
The head of the authority, Zafer Al-Sarayreh, confirmed that this measure comes as a balance between "traditional legitimacy" and "contemporary technical and digital modernity," noting that many topics in Sharia sciences require investigation, analysis, refinement, and learning with precise scientific methodology; therefore, it was necessary to empower students in this regard.
He added that English is a global language, and there is an urgent need to empower specialists in Sharia sciences in this language, serving these noble sciences to convey them to others smoothly and competently.
Sarayreh pointed out that the authority is nearing completion on developing all bachelor degree plans in all scientific, humanities, health, and technical disciplines, in line with labor market requirements and updates in various sciences.
