Lafarge Convicted of Financing Terrorism

Khaberni - A Paris criminal court has sentenced the former CEO and other officials of the French "Lafarge" cement company to prison on charges of "financing terrorist organizations" during their activities in Syria between 2013 and 2014, and imposed the maximum financial fine on the company amounting to $1.31 million.

The presiding judge, Prévo Desprez, stated that Lafarge chose to continue its operations in Syria during the mentioned period and provided sums to terrorist organizations under the guise of "security payments" reaching 5.6 million euros.
