Khaberni - Gold and platinum prices in the exchanges dropped after statements by US President Donald Trump regarding the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday.
According to data from the Comex exchange in New York, the futures price of gold for June delivery dropped by 1.94% to 1:10 AM on Monday, Moscow time, or by 96.3 dollars.
The price of gold reached 4690.1 dollars per ounce.
The prices of other precious metals also decreased by about 2 – 4%.
The price of silver futures for May delivery decreased by 3.57%, reaching 73.748 dollars per ounce.
The price of platinum futures for June delivery decreased by 2.85%, reaching 2006.35 dollars per ounce as of 1:16 AM Moscow time. The price of palladium (June delivery) decreased by 1.68%, to 1514.25 dollars per ounce.
This comes after US President Donald Trump stated that the United States intends to impose a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz.
